An appreciation blog for the delectable and prodigiously talented Benedict Cumberbatch

I like the term “Cumbercollective”, but

iaradelfaol:

if we allow a man (even the CumberLord himself) to tell us what to do, we shall become ”Cumberslaves”, and this is not good for feminism AT ALL!

Cumbercollective is good

Cumberbabes is good

Cumberpeople is good

Cumberbitches is good

Cumberwhatever is good

I am free. You are free. Everybody is free.

And we love you, Ben!

I don’t get this!!

And Im not trying to be controversial, and I absolutely consider myself a feminist.

But if the term Cumberbitches makes Benedict uncomfortable, and we’re calling ourselves that to express our admiration for him and his work - isn’t it time for a change?

Cumberbabes works for me. And would save Ben pulling that face when he’s asked about his fans. And while seeing him squirm is always amusing, surely we’d all like to make his life a little better if we could?

Letterman:  You’re in the big Star Wars film, er the Star Wars…. Star Trek

Benedict:  Nyah, all interchangeable!

Benedict loses it & goes for the thigh

Unimpressed with Letterman but Benedict kills it, as usual. And looks particularly good doing so!

Ah - Benny touching himself in interviews again. He only does if to tease us…

Benedict on Letterman

Yaaay

Oh, God, this Letterman interview was complete bullshit. It was like the guy set out to embarrass Ben, but at the same time didn’t really care much, didn’t know anything about him, hadn’t seen any of his stuff, and only gained any amount of respect for him after he’d seen the Star Trek clip.

I thought that Ben ran rings round him!

I’m not sure that Letterman set out to embarrass him - but it was obvious from the way he pronounced his name that he didn’t have a clue who he was. Random questions too. Why not ask him about theatre vs film, or Sherlock, or even more about Star Trek - why concentrate on the otters and his gap year??

Fan fiction is what literature might look like if it were reinvented from scratch after a nuclear apocalypse by a band of brilliant pop-culture junkies trapped in a sealed bunker. They don’t do it for money. That’s not what it’s about. The writers write it and put it up online just for the satisfaction. They’re fans, but they’re not silent, couchbound consumers of media. The culture talks to them, and they talk back to the culture in its own language.

I created this because my best friend and I are taking a trip to London! We hope to come back to the states fully British.

I had to cut it up into individual images because of tumblr’s compression… If you really need to view this as one whole image, you can do so here.

Wait what Is a Ramble? … I have never heard someone use that before, we always call it waffles.

this is cute but what. i have never heard ‘dosh,’ ‘radge’ or ‘cozzy’…what

British people are so adorable.

I’ve never heard of Radge either and I’m British!

And I don’t think anyone has used the word muffler since about 1890…

The rest is fairly accurate though!

Video is geolocked unfortunately…

Video is entirely dull and all about JJ talking, so you’re not missing anything.
